Corrupt Benton Harbor, Mich. City Commissioner Faces Felony Charge

Benton Harbor City Commissioner Harold Hampton has been charged with forging a certificate of car insurance. This was his third arrest within the last couple of years. A St. Joseph Police Department Report says Hampton was pulled over on December 5, 2005 and could not produce proof of car insurance. Later that day, he went to a Berrien County Trial Court and showed Magistrate Steve Doak a fake State Farm Certificate of Insurance, the police reported. Hampton was charged on July 17, 2006.
