It’s More than a Recession

The Presidential campaigns are forced to turn their attention to the economy — the growing unemployment, the real estate crisis, lackluster consumer spending, the spike in oil prices, and alarming threat to banking.  As a result, the candidates are beginning to use the "R" word — recession.

They are promising economic stimulus packages such as tax rebates to encourage spending and jobs, or some help for those whose homes have been foreclosed or who can't pay utility bills. The problem is that it's not going to work. And as far as bringing the jobs back, where are the jobs to come from? The jobs are evaporating — gone
